Pharmacist Laure Ducroux founded Laboratoires Laudavie in 2008, after having spent 20 years working in the pharmaceutical industry. At that time, she was a young mother having to cope with the minor ailments of infancy – how could she stop her baby from crying when everything else was going well?
Fully aware that her situation was not unusual, she decides to offer parents natural and gentle solutions to efficiently solve these minor everyday ailments without using medication. She develops a complete approach combining phytotherapy with an attentive listening, environment understanding, and advice providing. It is a genuine support provided through a holistic, caring approach to health.
In 1901, Emile Monal, her great-grandfather, an apothecary, founds Laboratoires Monal. In his workshop in Nancy, he develops a product recommended for the treatment of gonorrhea. Entirely designed with medicinal plants, Santal Monal instantly knows a success that goes beyond the borders.
In 1920, it is the turn of her grand-father, Paul Ducroux, and then her father Jean-Marie Ducroux also pharmacists to keep on going in the same fields. Convinced by the curative potential of nature’s resources, her father develops two products now seen as iconic: Prorhinel, against colds and Calmosine to relieve infant colic.
Persuaded of the need for soft and natural solutions as alternative to drug treatments that sometimes are heavy and aggressive, Laure Ducroux pursues the work of her father. She founds Laboratoires Laudavie and develops the brand Calmosine to offer a real range: Calmosine Digestion, Calmosine Sleep and Calmosine Breastfeeding.
Laboratoires Laudavie team is currently composed of 9 persons including four pharmacists and two biotechnology engineers.
The brand’s increasingly high profile prompted its international development, with presence in Belgium, Luxembourg, Algeria, Lebanon, Serbia and soon in the UK, Asia and Iran.
