I BREASTFEED. IS IT BETTER TO SLEEP WITH BABY ?

Leila Petit

HONEY, ARE YOU SURE ABOUT CO-SLEEPING ?

The end of the night spent at 3 in bed with baby at your breast, does that sounds familiar ? Or are you more of sleeping type, the baby’s room next door ?
Let’s check !

From the experts’ side

In the first weeks of life, your baby needs presence and contact. Sleeping with you at night can reassure him. If you choose to keep him close to you to accompany his sleep, it is better to avoid accommodating him in your bed because of the risks of falling, crushing or choking in blankets, duvets, or pillows. To stay close to him, why not install his bed in your room the time he adapts to the rhythm day/night ? Around 6 months, his sleep cycles are longer and he has adapted to his environment… It’s time to install him gradually in his room.
